Lots of video stuff here at DEMO. Eyejot is the first and is about “video messaging in a blink.” It uses Flash and is client free. It works with any web browser, including mobile phones. Here’s a screen shot from the demo, showing a message David Geller, CEO, quickly created before our eyes. And it has business applications, too, he said.

Two free email services that are even simpler than eyejot – and yet much more powerful and feature filled – are gabmail and gabjam @ http://www.freegabmail.com. They allow unlimited 2-minute-long free videomails and include threading so that you can access any video in a thread with a single click.
Hey Graeme-
If you’re impressed with eyeyot, you’ll love gabmail and gabjam (www.freegabmail.com). You can use any email or webmail client, no download *or* registration, unlimited number of free messages of up to two minutes in length. Best part is that every message is threaded so you can access any video in a thread with a single click. Much more robust and even easier to use! Nick.
Eyejot? Thanks, but no thanks. I found it to be cumbersome inconvenient.
I’ve been using http://www.freegabmail.com for months and it’s way better!
Here’s what I think makes http://www.freegabmail.com better:
1. No user registration. You just go to http://www.freegabmail.com and start using it. Why do the others need you to register?
2. GabMail uses your own email client so you don’t need to import your contact list into some company’s server. No one needs to get my entire contact list.
3. All my video emails are stored in the same place as all my other email. I don’t have to put a copy of my email on someone else’s server.
4. Threading – this is a great idea. When someone replies to your video email, you get a copy of your original video back. You click on a thumbnail and you can replay it. It’s like quoting a text email in your reply.
5. My *favorite* thing about http://www.freegabmail.com are GabJams! You check a box to “Jam” your messages so that one link takes you to all the messages in a thread, even new ones that are added later. I save the links to GabJams with friends and we add to them whenever we want. You don’t even have to actually send the email, you just reload the link and any new videos are there. It’s like video Instant Messaging. Very cool.
